Gate operation

After installing the maveo box and adding a maveo stick, you will immediately be offered an update for the maveo stick. In rare cases, this may not be successful. Follow these steps to use the gateway again as usual:

  1. Go to the maveo app and tap on the burger menu --> Settings --> Connected gates (Select the appropriate gate) --> scroll down and remove gate.
  2. Go to the maveo stick and press the yellow button for 5 seconds until the LED of the stick flashes twice.
  3. Unplug the gate drive and wait for about 5 seconds, then plug it back in.
  4. Go back to the maveo app and add the gate again.
  5. Perform the update again.

Repeat these steps if necessary. If this is not successful, contact our support at support@smartwithmaveo.com.

When the ventilation scenario is activated, maveo ensures good air quality in your garage. Therefore, it is possible that the door cannot be closed completely if the air quality is not balanced. Deactivate the ventilation scenario to be able to operate the door as usual again.

Did you try to update the maveo stick (yellow triangle in the upper left screen) and have problems since then? Often a faulty maveo stick update becomes visible by the fact that the LED of the maveo stick is permanently on. To solve the problem: Please delete the affected goal from the maveo app. Remove the maveo stick from the drive for about ten seconds and then reinsert it. Then add the maveo stick as a gate again and run the update again.

If your maveo stick has the firmware version 52.1.25 and you have already plugged it in once, you have to plug in a maveo stick of version 52.1.25 again, so that the gate can be opened or closed again.

If this is not the case, you can perform a so-called MS-Bus reset on the drive: To do this, go to programming level 1, menu 8, parameter 7 - or ask your Marantec partner for assistance.

If your service technician or installer wants to access the advanced programming settings of the drive, you have to remove the maveo stick. Make sure that you only plug in or unplug the maveo stick in a de-energized state.

Attention: Starting with maveo stick firmware version 52.1.25, an MS-Bus reset must be performed before position parameters such as the intermediate position OPEN (ventilation position) can be taught. To do this, go to programming level 1, menu 8, parameter 7 - or ask your Marantec partner for support.

This is not supposed to be! But there are two causes for which this case can occur. Here's how you can remedy the situation:

When the ventilation scenario is activated, maveo ensures a good air quality in your garage. As soon as maveo has detected that the air humidity is not as specified, maveo tries to regulate it and moves to the so-called "intermediate position OPEN" of your drive. If this is not programmed, it is possible that maveo moves beyond this position and the door is completely open. Deactivate the intelligent ventilation scenario until you or your Marantec partner has set the ventilation position. You can find out how to do this in the operating instructions for the door operator.

Software update: Furthermore, you have to make sure that your maveo stick has the latest software version, this is at least version 52.1.25. If an update is available, this will be indicated by a yellow warning triangle in the upper left corner of the door screen.
You can check the current software version of the maveo stick in the settings under "Connected garage doors".

If your maveo stick does not have this version, switch off the ventilation scenario to be on the safe side.

We'll get to that in a minute! Make sure you are always logged in with your maveo cloud account in the maveo app to use the remote connection. Check in the sandwich menu under "My account" if you are logged in.

In addition, check if you have previously learned the maveo box into the local network and if it is connected to the Internet. If all points are fulfilled, your remote control should also work.

maveo box not available or offline

Is a 5 GHz network the only fixed frequency in the router? maveo can only connect to 2.4 GHz networks. In addition, activate the 2.4 GHz frequency in the settings of your Wi-Fi router.

Furthermore, your Wi-Fi router must be visible for the maveo box. This means that it must send the SSID so that your Wi-Fi is not hidden. How your Wi-Fi router sends its SSID can be found in the manual of your router.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Check network: Check if your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your maveo box. This is only relevant if you only use maveo locally, without a maveo cloud account.
  2. Check maveo cloud account: If you are using maveo remotely from the mobile network or another network, you should check if you are logged in with your maveo cloud account and have enabled the connection in the settings of the maveo box. Make sure you have good network reception (preferably LTE) and sufficient data volume.
  3. Close the maveo app completely and restart it. If necessary, delete the cache on Android smartphones.
  4. If this does not solve the problem, restart the maveo box.
