Automatic ventilation

Your Marantec garage door opener can automatically ventilate your door together with the maveo connect stick and the maveo sensor h+t.

All you need is our maveo sensor h+t!

How does automatic ventilation work?

Inside sensor

You place the maveo sensor h+t in your garage. It measures the temperature and humidity in the garage and sends it to the maveo connect stick at regular intervals via Bluetooth.

Weather location

A weather location is an online weather service that downloads the official weather data for temperature and humidity from the Internet. The weather station closest to the address you have entered is queried.

When is the ventilation?

The maveo connect stick compares the measured values of the maveo sensor h+t (inside) and the online weather service (outside) and calculates:

If the humidity inside the garage is higher than outside, and if the target humidity inside the garage has not yet been reached, then the door is moved to the ventilation position.

Relatively dry air should then be able to flow into the garage and thus reduce the saturation level of humidity.

If the conditions are no longer met and ventilation is no longer considered useful, the door is automatically closed again.

You can only use the maveo sensor h+t for automatic ventilation with the maveo connect stick. It is available in our store, among other places.

The ventilation position on the maveo connect stick stands for the so-called intermediate positions on your Marantec garage door opener.

The installation instructions for your Comfort garage door opener describe how you can program the intermediate positions on the opener itself. This is important so that the operator knows how far it has to move as soon as it receives the command from the maveo connect stick or a hand-held transmitter.

Alternatively, you can find detailed instructions here on the support page.

Click here for the instructions for all Marantec door operators.

That depends:

As long as your door operator has a ventilation position programmed (called intermediate position CLOSED in the instructions), you can also control the door manually using the button on the start screen.

However, automated ventilation is then not available to you.

The maveo sensor h+t has protection class IP20 and is therefore only dust-protected and must be placed inside the garage. To record the relative humidity and temperature of the outdoor area, the nearest weather station is queried online.

One maveo connect stick can connect to a maximum of one maveo sensor h+t.

One maveo sensor h+t can connect to a maximum of one maveo connect stick.

If you have several doors, it depends:

  • If you have a double garage, i.e. one room with two doors, equipping a maveo connect stick with a maveo sensor h+t may be sufficient for your needs.
  • If you have separate garages, each with one door, e.g. on opposite sides of your property, and want to ventilate each one automatically, you will need one maveo sensor h+t per garage.

Which settings can I select for the ventilation scenario with the maveo connect stick?

Mode

Together with the maveo sensor h+t, the maveo connect stick offers you three different modes.

Weather:

Here, the maveo sensor h+t measures the relative humidity (in %) in the air in the garage and compares it with the online weather service. If the value inside the garage is higher than outside and the target humidity has not yet been reached, the door is ventilated.

Sensor:

Here, only the measured value of the maveo sensor h+t inside the garage is measured. If this exceeds the target humidity value, the door will open.

Time:

You can store two times here. At these times, your door moves into the ventilation position and closes again automatically after a time defined by you.

Humidity target

maveo tries to reach this value. As soon as the humidity in the garage has dropped to this value, maveo is satisfied and closes the door again.
